Wexner Center

I had a lot of fun in exploring at Wexner Center. This is actually my second time going there. This time, i appreciated the video work of Christian Marclay and some pictures provided by FSA. Christian Marclay is a man who is obsessed about time. The exhibition is mainly a film that is about a 24-hour compilation of time-related scenes. What interested is, you will forget time when sitting there and watching. But you will be reminded about all the time in the film. Christian Marclay made this film by editing various film clip related with time. It took him two years to make such piece but it did not take longer to watch that. This film amazes me, as it is really a great perform essay on film and I think my world is like reconfigured. When I finished watching, it seemed everything is about the time. Time is for no one; it still continues no matter what happened to you.

Another exhibition is called 'More American Photographs'. The immense size of the photos that line the walls telling about the Great Depression, even although the pictures do not need any help in speaking for themselves. My favorite piece of the exhibit would have to be Hank Willis Thomas’Strawberry Mansion. It is a sort of folding card display of a long street made up of 72 compiled prints. In it the viewer sees boarded up houses contrasted with the broad smiles of those posing for the photo. The severity of the times is evident along with the simplicity and hopefulness of human nature to persist. Come see for yourself and witness that no matter the time, Americans have the ability to endure
